The mission of the Borger Honor Guard is to present the American colors in a respectful manner, honoring and respecting veterans, whenever needed. The Borger Honor Guard is self-funded and will never charge for the service they can provide. Other opportunities where the Borger Honor Guard can step in are school presentations, Memorial Day services, parades like the one on July 4th, and teaching flag etiquette to civic groups.
The Borger Honor Guard has presented colors for Texas Governor Abbott, Little League sporting events, the annual Christmas Parade in Borger, and for the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Interlodges, State, and Fall Conference and Conventions, presenting in front of over 7,000 people. We also honor and preside over Veteran funerals.
Borger, Texas members: Bob Tiffany, US Navy, Ralph Lee Pumphry, US Navy, SH2, Clayton Norton, US Army, GC Alburty, US Army, Don Martin, US Army, Jack Council, US Army, Roy Chambers, US Army, Bruce E Lemery, US Army; Amarillo, Texas member: David Maxwell Zint, US Marine Corps.
Because the flag represents the freedom, dignity, and true meaning of being an American, the coordination of the event takes planning. The Borger Honor Guard will always take the time it requires to be respectful and honorable.
The Borger Honor Guard is strictly a volunteer-based group of Veterans. They are “veterans honoring veterans, with a desire to serve, ability to perform, and the courage to act.” If you are interested in this group of dedicated and honorable men to present the American Flag at your assembly or service, please contact with your event date, place, time, and request of uniform. Some places require license-to-carry permits.
